The NPP parliamentary candidate for the Old Tafo constituency, Vincent Ekow Assafuah has donated two Taxis to the constituency party executives in fulfillment of a promise he made during the primaries.
Mr. Assafuah who is currently the Public relations officer for the ministry of education won the nod to represent the party as Parliamentary candidate in the 2020 elections ahead of Dr. Louisa Serwaa.
Presenting the two Matiz vehicles, Mr. Assafuah said he made the promise to the delegates realizing the challenges the polling station executives face having served as a polling station executive himself.
“Having served as a Polling Station Executive of my party in the Old Tafo Constituency, I got to experience at first hand the many challenges that the polling station executives of the party face.
In the case of Old Tafo, there was no welfare package for them. Therefore, during the parliamentary primaries, I promised the delegates of Old Tafo Constituency to provide a source of funding to support the welfare of the Polling Station Executives when I am given the mandate.
I presented these taxis to the constituency, for the proceeds to be used as a fund for the welfare of the constituency polling station executives in fulfillment of my promise to them.
The welfare of the Polling Station Executives needs to be given a serious attention, because they serve as the heartbeat of the party at the constituency level.” He wrote
