Former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress NDC, John Mahama has cut short his campaign tour of the Bono region.
According to John Mahama, this is to enable him return to the capital Accra to address issues concerning the ongoing voter register exhibition exercise the electoral commission is conducting.
In a post on social media, H.E. John Mahama cited increasing reports of challenges with the voter register exhibition process, saying he will address a major press conference on the issue in due course.
“I am cutting short my tour of the Bono Region to return to Accra because of the increasing reports of challenges with the voter register and the exhibition process. We’ll address a major press conference on the issues in due course.”
Names missing from register?
Last week, a major incident occurred at the EC office in the Ashaiman constituency when the incumbent member of parliament, Hon. Ernest Henry Norgbey stormed the office with some men to cause a commotion over his name supposedly not appearing in the register even though he registered.
The EC later released a statement and document proof to show the MP’s name was present on the register contrary to his claims.
