Lordina Mahama drops “back seat role”, campaigns in her hometown for husband Mahama

Former First Lady Lordina Mahama who has joined the National Democratic Congress(NDC), is currently in her home region to solicit votes for her husband seeking to return to power.

Lordina Mahama has been campaigning in Kintampo and Nkoranza areas of the Bono East Region for the NDC parliamentary candidates.

In addition to sharing highlights of the People’s Manifesto and John Mahama’s promises to Ghanaians, Mrs. Mahama also invited the people to vote for the NDC and John Mahama because he is a President Ghanaians can trust, and he has the track record of development without discrimination.

Mr. Mahama, she noted, will also work to create a minimum one million jobs, stabilize the economy to provide all Ghanaians with opportunities and develop critical infrastructure under a $10bn Big Push.

Among the places visited by the former First Lady was the palace of the Chief of Jema.

There were reports that the former first lady was embittered about the ‘papa no’ saga and had refused to campaign for her husband going into next month’s election.

But Mr Mahama in an interview weeks ago revealed that his wife had resigned only to activities of her foundation because the NPP during the 2016 elections framed a lot of lies which she could not fathom.

“In 2016, there were a lot of lies against her [Lordina] so she was a bit traumatized by the experience so she wants to take a back role, let me do my politics,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM
