The supreme court of Ghana has thrown out a review application by the petitioner John Mahama to have the court’s decision on Monday not to force Jean Mensa to testify looked at again, citing miscarriage of justice.
Following aguments today by the counsel for the petitioner, lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata and the counsel for the 1st and 2nd respondents, Lawyer Amenuvor and Lawyer Akoto Ampaw respectively, the court rose to decide in chambers.
The bench constituted by 9 justices returned to rule among other things that, the applicant hadn’t proven that new issues have arisen that could fundamentally change the ruling on Monday the 15th of February.
The case was accordingly dismissed by the court. Court rose again, to return later today to hear another application for stay of proceedings filed by the petitioner.
